Hey folks-

Does anyone know of anyone doing any VPS hosting in Chattanooga? Looking
for a VERY small VPS in the area to host mqtt (mosquito) for
meshtastic message forwarding.

Thanks-
Joe

=============================================================== From: David White via chugalug ------------------------------------------------------ [Barred Owl Web](https://barredowlweb.com) (my business) provides hosting. Mostly managed VPS hosting and shared hosting. We have some hardware colocated in DC Blox. I've never really advertised a hosting package for cheap, unmanaged VPS hosting, but I do have it in my spreadsheet that I'm occasionally willing to pull out of my back pocket and provide to people who know what they're doing. :) Hit me up with the specs you need, and I'll send you over a quote. I know you (but haven't seen you in forever. Hope you're well, sir.) If you can get by with IPv6, that'll be even cheaper. --- David White N4DWY Sent with [Proton Mail](https://proton.me/mail/home) secure email.

I can deploy a VM for ya. I have about 2tb of ram and around 100tb of clustered storage so capacity isn=E2=80=99t an issue. Heh.

You might see "MUON" and "muon" around town, and the "Signal Mountain Geek Router" aka "SMGR" is visible from my house to into Georgia and elsewhere. =============================================================== From: Aaron welch via chugalug ------------------------------------------------------ That is the hope. Transit organizations across the country are limited to some pretty outdated and haphazardly supported software. Tracking assets and determining transit times is a critical part of their operations and yet many vendors don't prioritize that functionality via their platforms. -Aaron c --=20 Aaron Welch Chief Mechanic @ Geek Ventures 423-505-9999 n2nightfall@gmail.com "Enabling people to do great things with their own ideas."

=============================================================== From: Lynn Dixon via chugalug ------------------------------------------------------ Greg, The list obscures your email. Feel free to give me a shout at this inbox: boodaddy@gmail.com and I'll happily share the details. I host about 75 different websites, and about a dozen VPS' on this environment. It's also a very large development lab for a lot of the products (Red Hat) that I sell, and several of us Red Hatters in the SouthEast all use the lab in our daily work. I've been a happy customer of Peace Communications (Scipio) for about 15+ years now, and I highly recommend those guys. If you are looking for VPS, or even webhosting I'm happy to work with you. lets use boodaddy@gmail.com to start the comms, and then I'll share a more "professional" email address in that unicast. nce with

=============================================================== From: William Roush via chugalug ------------------------------------------------------ I'm curious how you're approaching some of the challenges of how Meshtastic is designed (specifically around some deliverability reliability issues), are you writing your own client running on top of Meshtastic? And why did you consider it over alternatives like LoRAWAN? I've been trying to enjoy Meshtastic but mostly using it on the move and have found it to be... less than great. Being within a single mesh that you control should make it significantly better but the lack of deliverability guarantees have been rough, and the coordination of large networks for network configuration and congestion management are also... interesting. (Though Meshtastic is still pretty young and IIRC a lot of these concerns are on their roadmap, so kind of eagerly awaiting) c

=============================================================== From: Joe Freeman via chugalug ------------------------------------------------------ For any who might be interested, there's a TN Mesh discord with a Chattanooga Area channel at https://discord.gg/U8Ewubrq There's a fair amount of discussion going on regarding expanding the 'mesh' from Oswald Dome to Signal Mtn at least, and statewide by linking up with Nashville and others. There are channels to discuss gear, builds, software, development and other topics so everyone is welcome from beginners to us folks getting a little long in the tooth. g

Thanks, I'll check it out when done with current projects. Wanted to build a cross-polinating/posting meshtastic BBS kind of thing and got busy.
